It is an everyday struggle. Hold Up Or Fold Up.
The founder of jobless and HUFU Streetwear, Fortunato Tassone II was born in Biloxi Mississippi. From an early age, his great work ethics were strongly
impressed upon him by his hard driving grandfather at the family owned mechanical/plumbing company. Fortunato liked to travel and always searched for a
chance to leave Mississippi for good. A clothing company in San Diego California took interest in Fortunato and offered him a job and he jumped at the
opportunity. After taking the job and moving to San Diego, he rose to the top quickly and held this job for over 5 years. In 2008 the economy slipped
and like thousands of fellow Americans, Fortunato lost his job due to lack of work. As a hard worker, Fortunato was confident he would find a new job.
Instead, he only found disappointment.
There is no excuse for giving up. As an individual who is jobless you must hold up or fold up. This means you can stand strong or you can just buckle
from the pressure. Fortunato didn’t let his jobless status shake his confidence. One day, he was having lunch with a long time friend who suggested he
make a design about being jobless. Known for his keen sense of humor, Fortunato thought this was a great idea. He went home and quickly began working
on designing the first jobless logo. He then took the designs to the print shop he had conducted business with at the previous clothing company. He had
a small batch of shirts made and wore them around town where they became popular very quickly. Everywhere he went people would talk and laugh openly at
the jobless shirt. Someone always wanted one for themselves, a friend or family member who also found themselves jobless.
The company began receiving requests for orders before anything had been printed. The business was officially started in February 2009. The designs
started appearing cross-country ranging from California to Mississippi in malls, boxing gyms and tattoo shops. The company was recognized by being
nominated for Best Men’s Clothing Company by San Diego’s own ABC Channel 10 News A-List. The company went on to win this title for 2009 which was a
great accomplishment for their first year. In fall of 2009, jobless clothing was picked up by Tri-Eight Distribution Company located in Tokyo, Japan.
The sky is the limit for jobless. In 2010, jobless will bring you affordable denim and other pant styles for the hard workers that understand the value
of money. You shouldn’t have to go broke to buy clothes.
